Camps supporting student success. Contact us to get started

This camp is offered to help students develop 21st-century skills with open-ended STEM projects that explore and connect the principles of science, math, coding and engineering design. STEM camps leverage either the TI-84 Plus CE family or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculators, along with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and TI-Innovator™ Rover, to build students’ understanding of STEM concepts and careers.

By the end of the camp, students should feel comfortable with:

Coding in either Python or TI-Basic to spark interest in computer science, engineering and robotics.
Programming the TI-Innovator™ Hub to design and build working solutions to engineering problems with a variety of sensors, motors and more.
Programming the TI-Innovator™ Rover robotic vehicle to explore physical computing and put math and science concepts in motion.

Overview

STEM camps are available in half-day, one-day and multiday options for up to 25 students. Camps are highly customizable based on your timeframe, goals and TI technology.

Half day

Overview of either the TI-84 Plus CE or TI-Nspire™ CX II graphing calculator.
Introduction to coding in either Python or TI-Basic.
Programming explorations with the TI-Innovator™ Hub or TI-Innovator™ Rover.

One day

Coverage of one or two hands-on STEM projects with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and/or TI-Innovator™ Rover.
Strategies to help students develop problem-solving skills in the context of coding and engineering.

Mulitday

In-depth coverage of three or more hands-on STEM projects with the TI-Innovator™ Hub and/or TI-Innovator™ Rover.
Extended engagement with the engineering design process, where engineering solutions are designed, created, tested and refined.

Details

TI will provide an instructor who will lead the camp.
The district is required to ensure a certified educator is present throughout the camp.
If needed, TI technology may be borrowed; it will be shipped to a central location for the use of the students during the camp.
Print materials needed for the camp will be shipped to a central location and distributed by the district to the participating students.
